Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
* Management and development of the design team within a Matrix organisation (Aerospace projects have assigned project managers driving execution)
* Development of design for manufacture process with existing team
* Working with commercial/marketing team to set product development strategy short and long term - Identifying new technologies/market opportunities
* Provide leadership to support external customers and internal sales and marketing functions
* Overseeing review of new customer product opportunities and creating proposals
* Adherence to business metrics - budget, project schedules, quarterly targets
* Leading presentations to customers and internal leadership team
* Travel ~ 10%
Key Requirements
* Extensive Aerospace design experience.
* Strong background of technical leadership managing a multi-disciplined design team
* Detailed knowledge of Aerospace standards and regulations for product design
* Experience applying Aerospace quality standards
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or related subject
* Should excel in team development and leadership
* Exceptional people and time management skills - Managing the team to deadlines and responding effectively to demanding customer requests.
* Excellent communication skills
* Good presentation skills.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Software packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
* Six sigma trained or equivalent is desirable.
